Timeless Revival

This project involved breathing new life into a historic home built in 1900 while honoring its timeless character. Collaborating closely with the homeowners—dedicated yogis and owners of a local yoga studio—we reimagined the space to include a serene sunroom addition, an upstairs full bath remodel, and a new half bath tucked beneath the stairs. The goal was to create spaces that felt as though they had always belonged, blending seamlessly with the home’s original architecture while embracing a sense of peace and calm.

The sunroom was thoughtfully designed as a versatile retreat for yoga practice, quiet reading, bird watching, or simply unwinding by the wood stove with a cup of tea. A key element to this design was ensuring that every detail harmonized with the home’s vintage charm. From aged brick flooring in the sunroom to penny round mosaic tiles in the bathrooms, and from vintage light fixtures to aged brass hardware, each element reflected the homeowners’ vision for a cozy, timeless aesthetic. A rich, earthy green envelops the sunroom walls, inviting the outdoors in and enhancing the tranquil atmosphere.

The first phase of the project focused on understanding the homeowners’ desires and translating them into detailed plans. We measured the space and produced floor plans and elevations to ensure every new element, from window and door trim to baseboards and crown moulding, matched the existing features. The careful attention to these details ensured the new work would feel as though it was part of the original home.

The end result is a home that celebrates its history while embracing the needs of modern living. It’s a space where the homeowners can enjoy countless tender, serene moments, whether practicing yoga, listening to the crackle of the fire, or basking in the timeless charm of a house that now feels truly like home.
